Vatican Releases New List of Sins (Time/CNN)
Fortunately we have the likes of Sister Mary Martha to set things straight. She explained that the "New Sins" are so new after all. Please go read her take on things. It makes much more sense than what the media has been squawking about.
OK, Im game. what made you cringe? I read a short story in the new york
times but did not read the sister mary martha article. So I dont at all
claim to be too informed. Ive been reluctant to delve into the issue... so
Im curious on your take.
The thing that made me cringe is the implication that there might be things
that weren't a sin before that are now sinful.
If you read SMM you will get the idea that what is wrong has always been
wrong but that with new technology, media, etc., what we do has the
potential to affect more people more quickly. The sins are not new.
There is no list of "Thou shalt nots" to add to the original ten. But the
original ten can be broken in so many new ways.
