An excellent overview of the consumer cycle. Heavy on the doom and gloom
statistics, though. But still a good way to get the average consumer
thinking about personal consumption. The most relevant point was how a
large portion of consumerism is based on self-esteem, and how concern over
how we are perceived by others can drive us to "keep up with the Joneses,"
as it were. It can be difficult at times to think globally and act locally,
this short film is an excellent reminder of why we need to keep those ideas
fresh.
